I have lost my mind!

Hello all! I just want everyone to know after I became pregnant I lost my mind! Everytime I type anything I double check and I have mispelled almost every word. But that is not all, I forgot my left from my right and just today I washed my hair with bodywash instead of shampoo! I also lose everything I pick up. If anyone has any idea as to where I left my brain please let me know!

thanks,
Liz

Liz totally realized that we posted a sonogram picture and didn't write anything about it. So, here you go. That's our baby. Actually this picutre is at 8 weeks, 6 days and we're in the 12th week, so the little chicken mcnugget you see below is even bigger now!
Coolest part about the songram: we're looking at the baby on the screen who is just chilling out in Liz's belly as still as possible. Then all of a sudden, the kid starts dancing! I'm thinking it was a prototype for either "the robot" or "the lawnmower". Only time will tell, but the important thing is that our kid is already a dancer. The rest should be easy, right?

Check out the belly on mommy here. The first picture was taken a month ago and the second one was taken today. Amazing how quick this all happens! Before we know it, the kid will be breakin' on the kitchen floor.

Engaged!

As the title of this blog would let you believe...we got engaged this weekend!

Liz and I went down to Austin this weekend to visit our friends Marc and Aimee and their son Harrison. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to propose, since we had a really fun, romantic weekend there when we first started dating.

About two weeks ago, I ordered the ring, which is a really cool, antique ring that we found at a vintage clothing store in Austin the first time we hung out there. It's been killing me to keep it a secret, even for two weeks, but I managed.
The setting: A cool little brunch joint called Cisco's, which we also ate at during that same weekend. I called ahead to get the same table that we sat at the first time, although when we got there, there were two dudes sitting there, so we sat at the adjacent table. Once those guys left, I insisted that we switch tables, but I was nervous that Liz would think something was up. Turns out she already knew what was about to happen (she had seen the ring box in my pocket when we walked into the restaurant).
Anyway, as I nervously scarffed down my food and stumbled over my speech, Liz's eyes started to get bigger and bigger and her giggling got more and more intense. Still fumbling through my words, Liz says, "here, let me help you out" as she extended her hand out in my general direction. I then dropped to one knee and popped the question....finally.
Liz was so excited about the ring, she forgot to answer the question! But a few moments later she gave me a resounding "Maybe!"......
.....No, just kidding. She said yes, and then gushed over the ring some more.

So there you have it! We're gittin' hitched! Although we still don't know when yet.

We'll keep you posted.

Pregnancy updates

Well...Liz is still pregnant, so that's good news. Things seemed a little dicey in the beginning, but smoothed out in the last couple of weeks....as far as the baby's potential health is concerned. Liz on the other hand....well, that's another story.
I think our baby is some sort of human incarnation of Barney from the Simpsons because I've never heard belches like the ones Liz is producing. I really feel bad. It honestly looks (and sounds) like it physically hurts. Preggy pops ain't got nothin' on our baby's gas and poor Liz is taking the brunt of it. Amazingly enough, through all the gas, nausea, headaches, stomache aches, bad dreams, etc., etc. etc., Liz still manages to laugh, make me laugh, and have a positive attitude overall. Oh, and she's pretty cute too. God bless her....I love her.

Early observations on pregnant women:
They are scary.....but pretty damn cool.

New Years 2010

So we need to backtrack a little bit here and tell you about New Years. Once again, we were sitting on the couch at Liz's parents' house (I guess we do that a lot) on New Years Eve trying to figure out what we were going to do for the evening. Time was ticking and I (Dave) was racking my brain to come up with something. So I went into the kitchen to get something to eat and when I came back into the living room, Liz and her parents are all bustling around like they're about to go some where.

"Umm...What's going on?," I inquired.

"We're going to the casino. Get your stuff together!," says Liz.

Apparently in the time it took me to get a snack, Liz and her folks had decided we were going to the luxurious WinStar casino in Oklahoma for our evening festivities. I was dubious, but then again, I didn't come up with anything better, so what the hell.

So we rolled up to the casino around 5 or 6pm. Looked like a really flat, spread out version of Epcot Center. On the inside, it looked like every other crappy casino I've ever been to. Anyway, once we got in there, Liz's parents immediately disappeared to whereabouts unknown, leaving Liz and I to traverse the casino by ourselves, which was fine by us. Crazy sightings and adventures ensued:

1) Saw a cover band which was lead by a middle-aged, Joan Jett wannabe chick with huge fake boobs. That wasn't the funny part. When we actually looked at their fan base we soon discovered it was comprised of about 50 drooling, dumpy, middle aged men all hoping for a piece. Very sad. Very funny.
2) Same venue with the Joan Jett band: Ok so there were a few women getting down to the infectious grooves. One of them was this tall, husky blond girl who was blasted out of her gourd. Well, she ends up leaving her purse on the floor. Liz being the good samaritan that she is, collected the purse and returned it to its drunken owner. They were immediately best friends. As least that's as far as I could tell from the girl's spittle filled speech. We got a picture of the two of them together. It's a miracle the girl could stand up long enough for us to get a shot of her.
3) Best part of the night: Right around midnight, Liz and I were getting a little bored until we heard some loud music coming from a gigantic dance hall in the casino. When we got in there, we witnessed pure awesomeness. First of all the band, which was posing as a cover band, was really lead by Prince. Swear to God. The dude was Prince. Looked like him, moved like him, sounded like him...was him. Incredible.
With the Prince beats rolling, Liz and I got out to the dance floor and busted a move with the likes of a retarded looking Austin Powers and his crew of fembots, a dancing table, Cleopatra, and other assorted miscreants. Liz's dad even joined us for some intense line dancing. All in all, not a bad way to ring in the new year.

That's about it. The dance party wound down. We hung around for an hour or two more waiting for Liz's parents to be done with their games, then got the hell out of dodge at around 3am.

So there you have it. Our first new years together. Casinos, fake boobs, drunk chicks, Prince, retarded Austin Powers.....sweet!

First post of greatness

Today we decided to start a blog so here it goes. What to say? Well we are the most unlikely couple and we were both in wierd places when we met, but we are pretty great together. Not everyone was happy that we started dating mainly exes and other random nobodies. At first all of the mean comments on Facebook were annoying but after a day they became really funny. So thank you everyone who thought they were making us mad, you kept us laughing! This blog is to keep our family and friends updated so we hope you enjoy it!
